Bundy Ranch: Portents of more civil unrest in the United States?

Bunkerville, Nevada, April 2014

I only recently found out about the Bundy Ranch confrontation, which occurred in April 2014 near Bunkerville, Neveda, when unarmed American citizens backed by armed militia, mostly U.S. Army veterans, faced off heavily armed Federal law enforcement officers who were apparently under orders to shoot.

The population of the Bunkerville area rallied behind the Bundy family when they stood up to armed officers of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) who had come to seize cattle belonging to the family over a dispute regarding grazing rights that has lasted for years (read more about this in The Washington Post: Everything you need to know about the long fight between Cliven Bundy and the federal government).

In a speech given in Washington, D.C., a few months after the events, Oath Keepers President Stewart Rhodes said that things could have easily escalated in Bunkerville, insisting that Federal authorities “were actually considering a military strike at Bundy Ranch―thankfully they did not, because if they had that would have kicked off a civil war in this country…”

In the early 1990s, I had personally witnessed an armed confrontation that took place between the Mohawks of Kanesatake, near Oka, Québec, and the Sûreté du Québec supported by the Canadian army. No shots were fired back then, but the situation was indeed very tense over the course of several days, and it could have easily degraded.

When I first saw videos from the Bundy Ranch confrontation, I was eerily reminded of these earlier events I had been witness to. However, the videos I am presenting below contain images that I never thought I would see in my lifetime, straight out of some apocalyptic movie or TV series (see Broken Futures: What Are Apocalyptic Movies Trying to Tell Us?): unarmed U.S. citizens supported by heavily armed militiamen, facing off federal officers also heavily armed and apparently hell-bent on upholding Federal Law...

The first video is an interview with Dennis Michael Lynch on The Kelly File (fox News Network), published April 15, 2014, which contains exclusive video of Bundy Ranch. As you will see, Lynch did not expect to be confronted with what he witnessed in Nevada. In a scene reminiscent of the lone man confronting Chinese army tanks on Tienanmen Square, Lynch is seen at one point approaching the Federal officers in an effort to parley with them…

The second video is a report from KLAS-TV (Las Vegas) released April 16, 2014, where we see veterans of the U.S. military, including ex-Marines, who came from all over the country to support the citizens of Bunkerville. “We are here to protect our freedoms,” said a militiaman armed with an automatic weapon, posted on a viaduct overlooking a group of unarmed citizens approaching armed federal officers.

The third video was filmed by citizens and posted on YouTube on April 14, 2014, under the title “The REAL Bundy Ranch Story: Feds Forced to Surrender to American Citizens”.

The most remarkable in all this is that despite the fact that the claims of the Bundy family with regard to their dispute with the Federal government remain debatable, the surrounding population spontaneously rallied behind them, and armed veterans of the U.S. Army  spontaneously rallied from all over the place to support them.

At a time when a recent poll indicates that confidence in U.S. institutions is “below historical norms“, this reflects a deep discontent within segments of the American population, particularly with regard to their federal government, and not just among the black population of big cities like Baltimore (see Ron Paul: Collapsing Economy Fuels Baltimore-Style Riots).

While federal authorities may have been caught by surprise and unprepared at Bundy Ranch, they seem to expect and be preparing for more of the same as units of the American Army train for riot control and operations such as Jade Helm 15 are being conducted across several states, as I have been documenting over the last several weeks:

BS DetectorAs I keep saying, we are definitely living in exceptional times, and me may expect more surprises over the coming weeks and months. Keep alert, but avoid falling prey to paranoia as you watch and read the news these days, be it in the alternative or mainstream media: remember that behind everything they do, the powers that be aim above else at instilling FEAR, which is the ultimate weapon for mind control. So I would admonish you, like Greg Hunter of USAWatchog, to “Fear not, and prepare yourself, physically, mentally, and above all else, spiritually.” And use you B.S. Detector…
