Confirmed: No U.S. aircraft carrier group currently at sea

Notoriously unreliable SuperStation95 has reported on December 30 that no U.S. aircraft carrier groups would be at sea for a week or so as we were rolling into 2017, leaving the US open to a Pearl Harbour type of scenario.

I do regard the location of U.S. aircraft carrier groups as a major geopolitical indicator, and my go-to source for this information is South Front Analysis & Intelligence. In their location map as of December 30, 2016, all aircraft carriers do appear to be in port, with the exception of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69), which is shown as still being deployed in the Mediterranean.

However, the USS Eisenhower’s official Facebook page does confirm that the ship returned to port on December 30.

SuperStation95 claims that “It is believed to be the first time since World War II that at least one U.S. aircraft carrier has not been deployed.” I don’t put much stock in this claim, which I do not have time to vet.

SuperStation95 further states that “Looking at the list above [of carrier group locations], and the Home Ports of each ship, an adversary could nuke Norfolk, VA /  San Diego, CA / and Bremerton, WA and wipe out 90% of our ability to project power globally in one fell swoop.”

This is total speculation, yet it is not entirely improbable when one considers recent tensions flamed by the Obama regime against Russia, and the ongoing tensions in the South China sea. Why would the U.S. Navy place itself in such a vulnerable position given the current context?

I any event, I would simply consider this a heads up at this point.
